The two companies have until Friday to reach an agreement over how much Mediacom Communications should pay to carry Sinclair Broadcast Group's channels.

A blackout could affect more than 700,000 cable subscribers at 22 Sinclair stations in 12 states, including roughly 250,000 in Iowa. Stations affected include Fox stations - KDSM in Des Moines and KFXA in Cedar Rapids - as well as KGAN, a CBS affiliate, in Cedar Rapids.
